- Reduces the sagittal dimension of the interface to create a clamp that holds the ischium on the posterior shelf. High anterior proximal trim lines provide a counterforce to the ischium to assist in stabilizing the pelvis. 
- Stabilizes the pelvis and helps control the femur though intimate contouring around the anatomy of the pelvis and the thigh. 
- A variety of suspensions can be utilized to ensure constant contact with the interface to minimize movement, pistoning, and femoral control.
